Black Pistol Fire | 12.13.18 | The Scoot Inn
I’ve been following Black Pistol Fire since 2011, when I saw them randomly inside Stubb’s the spring of my freshman year of college. I was 19 years old, and even now, nearly 10 years later, these guys are still just as face meltingly awesome and talented (if not more so) than the first time I ever saw them.
I haven’t seen them nearly enough over the past several years, so whenever they’re back in Austin I make it a point to see them. Unfortunately, I missed most of Emily Wolfe’s set this time around (I’ve seen her live before), I caught a couple songs towards the end though and she is incredible. I’ve never seen Blackillac before and their energy was phenomenal live. I was impressed by them, and while they are not really in the same genre as BPF, with their presence and performance, it’s apparent why all these bands were on the same bill. I’m bummed to say that I had to leave shortly after my first three songs were up after Black Pistol Fire took the stage, but of course, the guys were nothing short of fantastic and brought the fire on what was a really chilly night.
